“Last year in December (after years of chronic dieting, over-exercising, and obsessing over being small), I made a goal to focus on my health this year (rather than starting another New Year’s diet)
.. that meant actually sleeping 7-8 hours (not 5-6), taking REST days, and eating more! I bought LCK’s 130-page nutrition ebook and decided to take a stab at reverse dieting.
I slowly reversed to around ~2300 calories and was blown away when I not only didn’t gain but was eating all the carbs!
Enter 2020 & shutdowns, I finally pulled the trigger on DB Physique and decided to really see how my body responded to different training.
Let’s just say I’m here to stay and won’t be going anywhere.
What I’m most excited about has been my change in my relationship with food, and loving my body where it’s at through every phase.
Today I put on some new shorts and a crop top (I normally wouldn’t wear unless I was wearing something higher-waisted).
I was working out in my garage and every time I saw myself in the mirror or in form check videos I was filming, I loved what I saw and was SO proud of it.
I had NO negative thoughts about my appearance. I certainly still struggle, but this was a huge win for me!
I feel strong, well-fed, and no longer want to shrink myself. I have been focusing on chasing health all year, and my aesthetics and body comp have changed for the better – and so has my view of myself.
