“Since I had my baby 11.5 months ago, I’ve never really eaten enough food for my activity, nursing, and postpartum needs.
I’ve averaged around 2200-2400 calories… but I was lifting 4x/week AND doing 4-5 run/spin classes a day AND nursing.
I was *always* feeling hungry and always finding myself wanting more food.
I have fought and fought my body, and fought what logic has been telling me (eat more food – duh) and struggling.
After some guidance and much discussion from LCK and the coaches of Paragon Training Methods, I’m fully committing to eating more food, taking care of my body, making peace with my new body, and also focusing on getting strong again.
The time to cut calories and be in a deficit to chase fat loss will come. But right now, I need to focus on health, supporting my body, and eating the food. Currently aiming for 2,500 calories/day (hello 320g carbs!) and excited to finally give myself permission to eat more and celebrate what my body can do.
Pulled 255 for a deadlift triple today (I follow the Physique program) and it made this mama feel good. I’m a work in progress, but celebrating the little victories helps.”
